Fun Holiday Events this Weekend

by

I love this time of year especially because there are so many family friendly events going on every weekend!  Please see the list below and if you know of one I have forgotten please let me know!  Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 8

Holiday Open House @ West Inn & Suites, Carlsbad 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm –  My husband and I love Bistro West and West Steak & Seafood.  The food really is to die for, and this event will have seasonal treats and spirits created by Chef Eugenio Martignago available for tastings.  This is the 5th annual holiday open house and will feature Santa, Mrs. Clause and their elves.  There will also be carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, crafts and a photo-op with Santa himself!  It is asked that you please bring an unwrapped toy to for the Toys for Tots Drive.

SD Mom’s Night Out @ Blended Industries, La Jolla – This event is not kid friendly, however I am still going and planning on having so much fun!  Join other local like-minded moms tonight for a little me time.  Enjoy wine from wine maker Jesse Kovacs, he is also a reality star from The Bachelorette Season 5/ Bachelor Pad Season 1. There will be delectable artisan meats, breads and cheeses, and let’s not forget the chocolates and cakes!  For more information on this fun event visit their website here.

Friday, December 9

Bonfire Nights in Old Town – Fun family event with carolers and other performers starting at 5 pm and continuing until 9 pm.  There will be free s’mores around the bonfire for the children to enjoy.  For more information on this event, visit the event website here.

Saturday, December 10

Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights @ The Oceanside Harbor – The Oceanside Yacht Club will be celebrating this year with the harbor parade of lights from 6 pm – 9 pm.  The actual parade starts at 7, however I do recommend you arrive early for parking.  It is pretty cool to see how creative people get decorating their boats, some even are in costume.  I’m sure you will see a Santa or two, maybe Mrs. Clause as well!

Carols of Carlsbad @ La Costa Resort & Spa– Carlsbad’s school kids from K-12 will sing holiday music on the festive Plaza at La Costa Resort and Spa. This fun family event will include live musical performances from a variety of classes. Bring the whole family to enjoy performances, refreshments, holiday arts and crafts and of course the caroling.  The event is from 3 pm – 5 pm at La Costa Resort, there is no cost associated with this event, enjoy!

Train Rides with Santa – The Chula Vista Live Streamers is offering free train rides with Santa from noon to 2:30 Saturday only.  For more information on this event visit their website here.
