Crusin’ Grand @ Downtown Escondido– Cruisin’ Grand is called one of the best cruises in the country. Stop by and see 1973 and earlier American-made Classics, Customs, Vintage, Muscle, and Hot Rods cruising Grand Ave, just like they did 50-60- years ago, on a Friday night.  The bands playing tonight are Stage 1 @ Maple: Platte River Band and at Stage 2 @ Kalmia: Gino and the Lone Gunman.  For more information click here.

Moonlight Beach Surf Fair – Head over to the Moonlight Beach parking lot and check out a wide range of surfing, ocean and green products and enjoy food, drinks and live surf music by local groups.  Solarez/Wahoo International will be doing free surfboard ding repairs!  There will be a raffle at 4:30pm. Tickets for the raffle are $1.00 each or 25 tickets for $20.00.  Music Line-up: 11:ooam–Wave Energy, 12:00pm–Shady Characters, 2:00pm–Surfwave, 3:00pm–Foom.  For more information visit the Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet website here.

Hot Dog On A Stick  1 Year Anniversary @ Encinitas – May 5 and 6 there will be free lemonade with every food purchase all weekend long and free hot dogs on a stick from 3-4 p.m. each day.   Extra bonus there will be raffle tickets for two $25 gift cards to Hot Dog On A Stick can be purchased for $1 each, with proceeds going to the local Encinitas Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito.  For more information visit Hot Dog on a Stick via Facebook and Twitter.

Cinco de Mayo @ Old Town – This FREE three-day fiesta takes place on Friday, May 4th Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th.  There is so much to do at this event, way too much for me to list here.  If you are a music lover you will love this event, the line-up is incredible.  Go here for a full line-up and a list of all other activities going on this weekend at Old Town.

Kids Workshop @ Home Depot – FREE hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 – 12 offered the  at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.  For more information click here.

Carlsbad Street Fair – The Street Fair begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m., it is the largest one-day street faire.  There will be over 900 vendors selling everything you could think of, including clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques and home decor. The international food court will feature more than 50 booths serving everything from Thai to Hawaiian cuisine. The children’s area will entertain kids with games, a super slide, a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, face painting and arts and crafts.

The City of Carlsbad is aiming to make parking more convenient, complimentary shuttles will run to and from the faire. Shuttles will pick up and drop off passengers at the Poinsettia Coaster Station and the northwest corner of Sears at Westfield Plaza Camino Real.  For more information visit the City of Carlsbad website here.

Art in the Pines Festival @Torrey Pines Natural Reserve –This year the festival runs two days (Sat. 5.5 & Sun 5/6) at this beautiful location. The festival is free and features nature inspired art such as painting and photography, in addition to food, live music, kids activities, and tours of the historic Torrey Pines lodge.  Free shuttle from parting lots at 12600 North Torrey Pines Rd, San Diego, or at National University 11255 North Torrey Pines Rd, La Jolla.

Wacky Science Sundays @ Balboa Park – Get ready to explore the wild and wacky worlds of mysterious creatures, fascinating habitats, and phenomenal science hands-on!
