2019 Coaster Holiday Express

Families can take a ride on a magical holiday train with Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th. NEW THIS YEAR… Two weekends of fun! The Holiday Express will also run on Saturday, December 14th, and Sunday, December 15th, all trains will depart at 10AM, 12NOON, and 2PM. North County Transit District’s Coaster Holiday Express is a specially decorated train ride that features photo opportunities with Santa and classic carol singing for children of all ages. Each 65-minute Holiday COASTER Express ride travels non-stop and roundtrip from Oceanside to Solana Beach. The ride is recommended for families with children between the ages of 3 and 10. Be sure to bring your camera for tons of photo opportunities throughout the train ride.

We have had so much fun taking kiddos on the Coaster Holiday Express, see picture above. It is only $20 per person this year with departure times of 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. from the Oceanside transit center. Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch Opening 9/21/19

Since 1963 families have journeyed to Bates Nut Farm’s Pumpkin Patch to create fall family memories and traditions. Visitors can grab a wheelbarrow and choose bright orange Big Mac pumpkins right from the field. Tractor hayrides, a straw maze, pony rides, petting corral, and the Bates Farm Zoo are offered daily. It has been a family tradition with our family for as long as I can remember, the kids always look forward to going and picking out a pumpkin. All the fun beings this weekend at Bate’s Nut Farm and it will run from Saturday, September 21, 2019 to Halloween night Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Hours for Bate’s Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch:

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Weekends 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
Friday October 11th & 18th 9:00 am – 8:00 pm

Please note : $5.00 CASH ONLY parking on October weekends. FREE parking on weekdays.

Free Child Bike Safety Class

This Saturday the City of Carlsbad is holding a Bike Rodeo! It is a free child bike safety class Saturday, July 27th from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the Safety Training Center located on 5750 Orion Street in Carlsbad. The safety skills for bicycle riders are for ages 4 to 11 years old. Del Mar @ Del Mar Fairgrounds – The fireworks at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is always incredible, I love that you can sit on the beach and enjoy the fireworks.  The fairgrounds have a full line up of things to do on Independence Day including a Home Town Heros Parade at 7 PM.  The Firework show begins at 9 PM,the fair is open until midnight so you can still enjoy some rides after the fireworks if you wish.  For more information click here.

El Cajon @ Kennedy Park – This is a great family event to attend and it is totally FREE.  Enjoy carnival games, crafts, family games, skate park, kiddie train rides, live music and more.  The Firework show begins at 9 PM, the event activities begin at 1 PM.  For more information click here.

Oceanside @ El Corazon – Please note The Fireworks show will be held on July 3 at 9 PM, not July 4th. The city of Oceanside is celebrating 125 of incorporation on July 3rd.  El Corazon is located at Rancho del Oro Drive and Oceanside Blvd. the property itself will not be open to the public but you may park around the area and should be able to see from a distance.  A small section of Rancho del Oro Road between Ocean Ranch Blvd and Seagate Way will be shut down for bands for the local high school and food trucks will be available.  For more information visit the City of Oceanside website here.

Poway @ Old Poway Park – Bring your family and friends and celebrate our country’s independence “turn-of-the-twentieth-century-style” at An Old-fashioned Fourth of July.
