The Fourth of July is a big holiday and La Costa Resort loves to celebrate! The La Costa firework celebration for 2019 is a full line up of activities for little ones and adults alike!

  • To start the day at 11 a.m. you may try the fun daily craft (patriotic theme) at the Athletic Club Patio.
  • Have a little lunch and then stop by the Coastal Events Center for some fun cookie decorating.
  • To cool off don’t miss the water balloon toss at the Sport Court, or the watersides.
  • My son’s favorite is the s’mores roasting over the open fire, but I assume pretty much any child is the same. Chocolate, graham crackers then add a toasted marshmallow who says no to that?

The evening comes to a close at 9 p.m. with the annual fireworks celebration, you will NOT want to miss the 20-minute fireworks extravaganza! The La Costa Resort has the best fireworks in North San Diego County!

If you live in the area like us, please remember to keep your animals indoors. To reserve a room or for more information visit La Costa’s website here.

Travel Tray as seen on Fox 5 San Diego

by

Did you catch us on Fox 5 San Diego this morning on our segment about Family Travel? I am so excited to share one of the products I found a few weeks ago called Travel Tray. How many of us mom and dads have french fries, or squished up goldfish crackers on the floor in our cars? If you don’t then you are my hero, and please come train my children! But if you are like most of us the floor of your car needs to be cleaned daily. Travel tray to the rescue!

Travel Tray was designed and made by a dad in San Diego. When he almost got into a car accident trying to help with spills in the backseat he knew he needed to do something and I am so glad he did! Travel Tray is focused on stopping spills in the car, but just as great for kids when you are on the go. Easy to clean, sturdy and designed to keep snacks handy and mess free. Travel Tray securely holds cups, bottles, snacks and food reducing messy spills!

Travel Tray is made in the USA from lightweight BPA free plastic. Refillable tray provides customization and the ability to use Travel Tray to best suit your individual needs. It retails on their website for only $14.99, I will say though if you have more than one child you will need more than one! But they offer free 2-day shipping on orders of 2 trays or more.

Family Travel with HomeAway

by

Family travel is exciting and daunting at the same time. What will they have when we get there? Will there be a refrigerator, or a microwave, which when you have children are a must! Recently my family and I stayed at a hotel a few blocks from Disneyland and while it was a suite there was no privacy. When we put the kids to bed, we too had to go to bed, but its our vacation too right? That is one of the reasons I love HomeAway.com, you can choose what type of property you want to stay in. HomeAway has you covered from an apartment to a condo, townhouse, villa, cottage, home… and the list actually goes on to include farmhouse, chalet, barn, or a boat…how fun!

HomeAway is ideal for families of any size because you can filter how many bedrooms are needed, as well as the maximum per night you want to spend. We are planning a family vacation to Kauai and we needed a few different things, one was being able to walk to the beach, it needs to sleep 6-8 and not break the bank. Thankfully checking HomeAway now is ideal as most vacations are booked in April, so there is plenty of inventory to check out.

Family travel is just that travel with your family which includes little ones, get them in on the fun! Ask the kids what they want…within reason of course, but showing them the pictures will get them as excited as you are. Staying in a hotel is double the price and a lot less space, with HomeAway you are able to select what is right for your family and your vacation needs. Having previous visitors reviews available to read is very helpful, and lets you know exactly what to expect. With HomeAway you really will feel like you are at home, with something at every price point there is nothing stopping you from booking your next vacation now!
