The BevMo! 5-cent sale is back!!!  Buy the first bottle of wine at normal BevMo prices and the second bottle is only 5-cents!  Don’t forget there are great options for ordering online.  They will have it ready and you may pick it up within the hour.  It scares me to bring my son into a store with nothing but tons of glass bottles.  It was a little easier when he was still able to sit in the cart but now he is a big 5-year-old.  That is why I love the pick up option!

Fun Things to Do this Weekend!

I know it is still the beginning of the week but there are so many fun things going on this weekend I couldn’t wait until Friday to share them all with you!  I will come out with my full list of things to do on Thursday/Friday as usual but wanted to give you a heads up on some fun and free events you do not want to miss this weekend!

Saturday, September 17

Bressi Ranch Village Center is having a grand opening with tons of free things for the kiddos from noon to 4 p.m.  The first 200 customers to show up will receive tote bags filled with merchant gifts and coupons, and everyone can enter to will one of five $100 shopping sprees.  The free family fun includes face painting, balloon sculptures, performances by the Boys & Girls Club Band, and free train rides. Virtu Boutique in Carlsbad is hosting a 90’s theme cocktail party with free food and drinks.  Free slap bracelets, (yes, they still make those) costume contest, and a FREE $10 CREDIT if you RSVP. Family Movie night at Stagecoach Park in Carlsbad.  We are so excited to bring our son to see E.T. for the very first time at this fun and free family event!  The fun starts at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m., bring low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic dinner.  There is a fun zone for kids, activity wristbands are required to participate and will be available for purchase at the event for $5 each. Soccer Mom?

Is being a soccer mom really THAT bad?  My mom was a soccer mom, and she totally rocked the mini van (and actually still does.)  Today is a normal Saturday morning, except I’m thinking about what type of snack I should buy for my son’s soccer team.  I’m the snack mom today, those two words alone are pretty funny snack mom.  I am a total soccer mom.  Okay I’ve said it, now I just need to accept it!  Soccer is in my blood I played since I was 5 as did both of my brothers.  My parents run the biggest youth soccer tournament in the nation, so my son playing soccer is just apart of growing up.  Why am I having such a hard time accepting the role as soccer mom?  My son plays soccer and I am his mom… soccer mom, soccer mom, soccer mom.  Maybe if I just say it over and over again it will help.  No such luck.  I feel like soccer mom’s are a mess, not a stitch of make up, hair with no product, beach bag as a purse, wearing mom jeans, and I am none of these things.  I won’t even go to the gym without make up, if I don’t want to see me with no make up on I figure no one else should either.  When I think of a soccer mom I still think of a 90’s soccer mom and it is 2011!  I think we (soccer mom’s) need to change the meaning of the word!  “Did you see Billy’s mom’s new BCBG shoes and Coach bag… wow what a soccer mom!”  Okay, so that may not happen but I’m a new soccer mom hoping it does!

Kids Free at the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park

The entire month of October kids are free at the San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park.  The price for a child admission is normally $30, what a huge savings!  This would be a great (and really inexpensive) birthday party  idea if your child has a birthday in October.  We love walking around the Zoo, the kids especially love watching all the animals.
