Big Bay Boom – This event has been cancelled. While the live show is cancelled they have created a TV special, it may be viewed on one of the stations below, for more information click here.

Carlsbad @ Legoland – This event is cancelled. Unfortunately as Legoland California is closed the July 4th fireworks show will not happen this year more information click here.

Coronado @ over Glorietta Bay – All events have been cancelled as of 4/22/20, for more information click here.

Del Mar @ Del Mar Fairgrounds – This event has been cancelled. The San Diego County Fair has been postponed until 2021, more information click here.

El Cajon @ Kennedy Park – The City of El Cajon will host fireworks on Saturday, July 4th at 9:00 pm. Due to current physical distancing requirements, Kennedy Park will be closed and there will be no public gathering permitted at or near the park area. Escondido @ Grape Park – All events have been cancelled or postponed, for more information click here.

La Costa @ La Costa Resort & Spa – This event has been cancelled. This one is especially sad for us as we have watched these fireworks from our driveway for years 🙁 more information click here.

National City @ Kimball Park – There was no information on this firework show so we believe it is cancelled for more information click here.

Ocean Beach @ OB Pier – This even has been cancelled. There will be no fireworks but they have put together firework shows from the past that may be viewed by clicking here, for more information click here.

Oceanside @ Camp Pendleton – This event has been cancelled. The Del Mar Beach opens at 8 AM, beach is open but you have to wear face coverings, fireworks are cancelled, for more information click here.

Oceanside @ El Corazon –This event has been postponed. The city of Oceanside has postponed the annual July 3rd fireworks show for a future date that is currently unknown. For more information visit the City of Oceanside website here.

Poway @ Old Poway Park – Poway will have two different fireworks shows at 9PM. Simultaneous firework displays will be launched from both Poway High School and the city’s Sportsplex in the South Poway Business Park. Rancho Bernardo – The Spirit of the Fourth – This event has been cancelled, for more information click here.

San Marcos @ Bradley Park – This event has been canceled, for more information click here.

Santee @ Town Center Community Park East – A virtual at-home celebration followed by LIVE fireworks due east & west (2 simultaneous shows: Town Center Community Park East and West Hills Park), The Firework show beings at 9 PM. For more information click here.

Easter Treats to make with Kids

Easter Egg Nests

It is a cloudy day here in SoCal today, which is why I decided what a perfect day to make treats with the kids! I usually host Easter brunch for my family and friends on Easter Sunday, sad I won’t be able to do that this year as I’m sure everyone is. We are all in this together, these are fun to make with the kids. I love-making Easter Egg Nests, not only are they adorable but they are ridiculously delicious as well. Items needed to make these are marshmallows, butter, vanilla, and dry chow mein noodles, and small candies for the eggs.

4 Cups Dry Chow Mein Noodles
3 Cups Mini Marshmallows
3 Tbsp Butter
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
Candy Eggs, Mini Robin’s Eggs, M & M’s, or Jelly Beans

Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Over low heat, melt the marshmallows and butter in a large saucepan, once melted stir in the vanilla. Pour the noodles into a large bowl. Pour the marshmallow and butter mixture over the noodles, stir until well coated. Rub some butter on your hands, this is important as it will all stick to your hands and not together. Then take the noodle mixture and form it into small round bowls in-between the size of a golf ball and tennis ball. Place the balls on the cookie sheet, with the back of a spoon, press the center of each ball to make a hollow indentation. Next let the nests set until they are hard and then fill each nest with candy eggs.

Last year my son and I make enough for all the children in his class. The year before I made them for place settings on Easter Sunday. I took a tooth pick and small piece of paper and wrote everyone’s name and placed at each setting on the table. No one had to get up for something sweet after the meal! We were able to visit SeaWorld San Diego’s Christmas Celebration and the entire family LOVED IT! It helped us all get in the Christmas spirit. It is going on now through January 5, 2020. My kids enjoyed the Clyde and Seamore’s Christmas Special and the lighting of the 40-foot tall Christmas tree is something not to miss!

Holidays at Legoland California

It’s Holidays at LEGOLAND^®, presented by Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas, and the entire Resort is bursting with holiday cheer. It starts the moment you enter the park and experience the festive décor. Keep your eyes open for your favorite holiday characters. Santa and the Toy Solider are back and they’ve brought somebody new: The Gingerbread Man! They’re ready for holiday hugs, pictures and selfies.

Then head over to Fun Town where things really get merry and bright. There’s a 30-foot, fully decorated LEGO^® Christmas tree with over 400 LEGO ornaments.

And as the day winds down, the tree gets a-twinklin’ to holiday tunes at the Holiday Light Show. Need more pictures? Hop on a sleigh with a life-size LEGO Santa that’s pulled by his trusted reindeer. Speaking of Santa, his elves are working extra hard for the biggest Christmas honor. Find out who wins at the all-new show: Santa’s Top Elf. 2019 Coaster Holiday Express

Families can take a ride on a magical holiday train with Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th. NEW THIS YEAR… Two weekends of fun! The Holiday Express will also run on Saturday, December 14th, and Sunday, December 15th, all trains will depart at 10AM, 12NOON, and 2PM. North County Transit District’s Coaster Holiday Express is a specially decorated train ride that features photo opportunities with Santa and classic carol singing for children of all ages. Each 65-minute Holiday COASTER Express ride travels non-stop and roundtrip from Oceanside to Solana Beach. The ride is recommended for families with children between the ages of 3 and 10. Be sure to bring your camera for tons of photo opportunities throughout the train ride.
