Summer Movie in Park @ Lemon Grove - This week  is Dolphin Tale at the Lemon Grove Recreation Center this movies is rated PG.  The movie will begin at 8 p.m., as always the movie is free.

***WEATHER ALERT***Rain is possible this weekend, as a result, this weekend’s events may be postponed or moved indoors. Please visit our Facebook page for hourly updates or contact the park office where the movie is happening after 3:00pm to check the status before heading down to the event. We will make every effort to show the movies outdoors as scheduled. Please bring rain gear and dress warm.

Ringing Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus @ Valley View Casino Center - Arrive early as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey host an animal open house free to any ticket holders.  Opening 90 minutes before the show begins you may see all the animals and meet some of the stars of the show.  There is also an all access pre-show which begins an hour before show time, which allows you to participate in fun interactive experiences. Show times are 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. & 7:oo p.m., to purchase tickets click here.
Concert Series @ Coronado Ferry Landing – Saturday and Sundays throughout the summer enjoy free concerts at the Coronado Ferry Landing beginning at 2 p.m.  Don Lee will perform and Sunday the Stilettos will play.  For more information click here.

Concerts by the sea @ La Jolla Cove – Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove will host the concerts by the sea from 2-4:00 p.m., this Sunday Sue Palmer & Her Motel Swing Orchestra will perform.  For more information click here.

Coronado Concerts in the Park @ Spreckles Park – Every Sunday at Spreckles park located at Orange Avenue, between Sixth and Seventh Streets at 6 p.m. enjoy free family concerts.  This week the Navy Southwest Wind Ensemble will perform, for more information click here.

Summer Movies in the Park @ Fallbrook – This week  is Puss in Boots  at Fallbrook Community Center

TGIF Concerts in the Park @ Poinsettia Park in Carlsbad -  The concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.  See the full list below for locations, dates and shows.  This week Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums a Jumpin’ Jive & Swing band will be playing, for more information click here.    Park of why I love this event is that you can pack snacks and wine to enjoy during the concert. The concerts are totally free not even a charge for parking.  I would recommend getting there as early as you can because parking does become an issue. Remember that everyone wants to see the performers, so plan to bring LOW-BACKED chairs only. Shade structures are not allowed except along the back fences of the parks.

Summer in the Park Concert Series @ University Heights located at Trolley Barn Park, Adams Avenue and Florida Street.  Fridays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This week Sonic Epidemic will be playing, for more information click here.

Concerts on the Promenade @ Prestcott Promenade in El Cajon - The Concerts on the Promenade (formerly Concerts on the Green) take place at Prescott Promenade, a small park in downtown El Cajon.  Each Friday beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. from May through September. Crusin’ Grand @ Downtown Escondido- Cruisin’ Grand is called one of the best cruises in the country. Stop by and see 1973 and earlier American-made Classics, Customs, Vintage, Muscle, and Hot Rods cruising Grand Ave, just like they did 50-60- years ago, on a Friday night.  The bands playing tonight are Stage 1 @ Maple: Scaring the Wives, Stage 2 @ Kalmia: Hoodoo Blues, Stage 3 @ Juniper: Grand Cruisers.  For more information click here.

Expo Day @ Petco Park - San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering has a fun day for your entire family with over 100 interactive exhibits for kids of all ages.  This is a free family event designed to educate and inspire future generations of scientists and engineers.  The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and they expect over 20,000 families to join in on this free event.  For more information visit the event website here.

Free Crafts for Kids @ Lakeshore Learning – Bring the kids to Lakeshore Learning between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a free kids craft and special Saturday savings.  This week the craft is a spring flower bouquet.  Children will capture all the wonders of spring as they create their own charming, basket-shaped masterpiece.  For more information visit Lakeshore Learning website here.

Busker Festival @ Sea Port Village – This fun event is pretty much a circus, one of a kind performers from around the world come out to share their talents.  Want to see someone swallow a sword, how about pogo stick tricks and juggling on a unicycle?  They have it all at this fun and free festival which is held both Saturday and Sunday.  For more information visit the event website here.

Carlsbad Flower Fields - Stop by the Carlsbad Flower Fields this weekend the flowers are beautiful!  I just drove by the flower fields yesterday and it really was amazing!  There are tons to do at the flower fields besides take some incredible pictures.  The kids will love the Santa’s Playground and the Sweet Pea Maze, next weekend is Kids Day so mark it on your calendar.  There is a cost for admission however if you plan to visit more than once this season I would recommend a season pass.  For more information visit the Flower Fields website here.

The Flower Fields in Carlsbad – Finally the flower fields in Carlsbad are open for the season!  There is so much more to do than just look at the beautiful flowers here!  There are tractor wagon rides, a sweet pea maze, santa’s playground, and the Carlsbad mining company.  The cost for admission is $11 for adults and $6 for children, children 2 and under are free.  If you plan on visiting the Flower Fields more than once this season I would suggest a season pass for only $22, if you go twice you will pay the same amount why not buy an unlimited pass?  For more information visit the website for the Carlsbad Flower Field here.

Ocean Beach Kite Festival - This fun event is in its 64th year, stop by for some fun kite making, rides, games, crafts at the Ocean Beach Recreation Center.  For more information on this fun and free event click here.

Spring Home & Garden Show – Need some fresh ideas for decorating your home?  This is the place for you!  The Spring Home & Garden Show is at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday 3/2 through Sunday 3/4.  The tickets are $8 per person and the prices for products at the show can not be beat anywhere!  For more information visit the event website here. 

Kids Workshop @ Home Depot - Fun & free hands-on workshops that are designed for children ages 5 – 12 at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  This Saturday the project is Build a #20 Race Car, the kids will learn how to make it while learning tool saftey.  The kids get to keep their craft and receive a free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.  For more information or to find a Home Depot near you click here.
