With the beautiful weather starting early this year (3 days of sun so far in June!) it is time to get out and enjoy the summer concerts for free. There are tons of concerts all over San Diego throughout the summer, here are the first few I found… a lot more to come!
Apline Summer Concert Series @ Alpine Community Center Park, 1830 Alpine Blvd. Every other Sunday through Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. Begins on July 1st, 2012 with The Marine Corps Band. Carlsbad TGIF Jazz in the Park – The annual concert season begins in late June and continues every Friday evening through mid-August. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. There are three locations for TGIF Jazz in the Park the first three weeks it is held at Stagecoach Park @ 3420 Camino de los Coches. Dates and performances as follows: June 29th Mofo Party Band, July 6 Big Time Operator, July 13 Cafe R & B. Poinsettia Park @ 6600 Hidden Valley Road, dates and performances as follows: July 20 Steve Lucky & The Rhumba Bums, July 27 B-Side Players, August 3 Madame Le Roux & Krewe plus Euphoria Brass Band. Calavera Hills Park @ 2997 Glasgow Drive. Dates and performances as follows: August 10 Sierra Leone’s Refugee All-Stars, August 17 Ruby & The Red Hots, August 24 Johnny Polanco Orchestra.
