Brick-or-Treat at Legoland – Halloween Fun!

Brick-or-Treat Party Nights is back and better than ever at Legoland this year. Brick-or-Treat is a family tradition in our house, Legoland AND trick-or-treating? We are so there! The park is open for five spooky-kooky nights – October 3, 10, 17, 24, and 30, starting at 5 p.m. There are costume contests, dancing, live entertainment, treats, dancing, rides, giant Lego Halloween models and the night comes to an end with fireworks.

Awesome fun awaits at Legoland for Halloween…after dark during Brick-Or-Treat Party Nights, and you will not want to miss out. The home of Halloween fun is filled with music, candy, surprises and snacks!

Highlights include:

  • Expanded Brick-or-Treat Trail, including 2 stations in SEA LIFE Aquarium
  • Coast Cruise transformation into the Ghost Cruise

Oceanside Harbor Days this weekend

On September 26-27, 2015 the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce along with Tri-City Medical Center and Genentech will present Oceanside Harbor Days at the Oceanside Harbor. The event will feature arts and craft exhibits, great food and fun activities for the entire family. The event is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Two event filled days of sun, sand, and surf provide an outstanding opportunity for residents and neighbors to experience fun activities including the Pirate Village, Entertainment Stage, Arts, Crafts and Food booth areas, Nail ‘n’ Sail Competition, Military, Public Safety displays, and more.

Harbor Days is free to the public and is hosted by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and Oceanside Harbor District and presented Genentech and Tri-City Medical Center. Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch opening soon!

Fall is the best time of year, the air becomes cooler, night comes a little sooner, and the beautiful fall leaves that everyone loves begin to fall. The feeling of fall is different to everyone to some it is finally having a pumpkin spiced latte’ and to others it is Bates Nut Farm. For over 50 years Bates Nut Farm has given us amazing fall traditions and memories at the Bates Nut Farm Pumpkin Patch.

Opening a couple of days after the official start of fall on Thursday, September 24th and running until Halloween night itself Saturday, October 31st. Family and friends can enjoy the tractor hayrides, straw maze, petting corral and pony rides. Grab a wheelbarrow and pick from variety of pumpkins: Big Macs, Ghost, Cinderella, Jack O’ Lantern, minis, squash, gourds and other fall décor. In addition, weekends at Bates include live entertainment from 12:00 -3:00, BBQ, kettle corn, food trucks, rock climb, bounce, slide and other family friendly events. Admission is free. $5.00 parking on October weekends.

On Saturday September 26th and Sunday September 27th don’t miss the Tractor Parade! Antique tractors from EDGETA Branch 22 and Vista Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum will circle the farm at 11:00 and 2:00 each day of the show. After you watch the parade, be sure to see the rest of the show featuring antique tractors, trucks, washing machines, toys, tools, pumps, and stationary engines. There will also be demonstrations of quilt making on hand cranked sewing machines, blacksmithing, and ice cream making.

BBQ lunch will be available for purchase from our own “What’s Cookin'” BBQ from 11 – 3.

Dogs on a leash are welcome at the farm. We are sorry, but only service dogs are allowed inside our stores. Thank you for cleaning up after your pet!

Again this year the the San Diego Zoo and Safari park will be free for children ages 3-11.  The entire month of October kids are FREE to the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park! Fine Print:  Each year, from October 1–31, in honor of our Zoo’s founding, children ages 3–11 are admitted free to the Zoo and Safari Park when accompanied by an adult.  The Zoo’s Guided Bus Tour and the Skyfari Aerial Tram are not included with Kids’ Free 1-Day Pass and must be purchased separately at the Zoo.  The Safari Park’s Africa Tram Safari and the Conservation Carousel are not included with Kids Free 1-Day Pass and must be purchased separately at the Park.

Movies in the Park Saturday, 8/28

Summer Movies in the Park is a perfect chance to relax and enjoy a safe and special night under the stars with your family.   Arrive early to pick out a good seat!  Bring blankets or low back chairs to sit on while you enjoy the movies. Bring a picnic dinner for your family to share as well.

Movies are all rated G or PG, and are all family friendly. Movies this year include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Despicable Me 2, Book of Life, Boxtrolls, Lego Movie, Happy Feet, Surf’s Up, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day are some top favorites this year.  Each movie is at a local park all over both the city of San Diego and San Diego County.  All movies start at dusk (approx. 15 minutes after sunset).
