Taking kids to the Del Mar Race track can be fun for everyone! Every Saturday and Sunday throughout the racing season there will be fun and free events in the infield. The fun starts at 1 p.m. and continues through the day until 6 p.m.
Join the party in the infield with plenty of fun for the entire family. Children receive free racetrack admission, adults are only $6.

La Costa Resort and Spa has an outstanding activities program all year round and they will be offering a full list of special activities over 4th of July weekend. The Firework show will be on Thursday July 4th at 9pm for hotel guests and members to enjoy. The firework show can be seen from all around so you do not have to be on the property to see the show. Please note that a lot of the curbs on La Costa Avenue are red and police will write tickets. Just pull on a side street off of La Costa Avenue and it will be fine. Regal Movie Theater in Oceanside has released the start date for the Summer Movie Express. The movies are all rated G or PG so the movies are great for kids of all ages and it is only $1 per person to attend. All of the movies begin at 10 AM on Tuesday’s and Wednesdays throughout the summer. Every week there are two different movies playing so the hardest decision will probably be which movie to see. The movie theaters are Digiplex Destination theaters, located in Bonsall, Poway, San Diego/Mission Valley, Temecula, Apple Valley and Oceanside. The price for admission is $5 for the entire movie series, or you may purchase as you go, children and adults are both just $1 per movie. Believe it or not Easter is right around the corner and readers have already started asking where they can take their children for a fun Easter Egg Hunt. Please see below the first guide for 2013, more to come!
Cardiff @ San Elijo Lagoon – The San Elijo Spring Eggucation is on Saturday & Sunday March 23-24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be an egg hunt, themed crafts, face painting and much more for more information click here.
Carlsbad @ Poinsettia Park – The annual EGGStravaganza Spring Festival will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Poinsettia Park. Please note this is not a free event, the cost is $5 for the Activity card which allows you to participate in what they call the “Egg Scramble,” but there are tons of fun things for the kids to do in the Fun Zone with bounce houses, a giant slide, obstacle courses and a chance to “soak the bunny.” The kids will collect eggs in the ongoing “Egg Scramble” activity between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children race to collect assorted eggs on the baseball fields. This activity sends groups of approximately 20 children of similar age into the out field to collect as many eggs as they can. For more information click here.
Encinitas @ Ecke Sports Park – The City of Encinitas Easter Egg Hunt Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ecke Sports Park, located at 278 Saxony Rd. This free event features arts and crafts, entertainment, prizes, jump houses, face painting, pictures with the bunny (for a fee) and over 24,000 eggs! Egg hunt times are as follows: 10:15 – 2 years and under, 10:45 – 3 year olds, 11:15 – 4 & 5 year olds, 11:45 – 6 & 7 year olds, 12:15 – 8 & 9 year olds. Escondido @ Bates Nut Farm – Celebrate Easter with an old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt! There will be separate divisions for different age groups, so every child will have a chance to find an egg with candy or a toy inside, the fun begins at 10 a.m..
