Fun Things to do this Weekend Sep. 23-25

The Carlsbad Music Festival is held Friday through Sunday in the Village.  This is the 8th year for the festival and Friday evening starts it off with the fun, and free Village Music Walk.  Saturday and Sunday the concerts are $15 or you may purchase the Festival Pass for $60 which allows you to enjoy all the concerts.  For more information visit the event website here.

Leo Carrillo Film Festival, at Leo Carrillo Park in Carlsbad.  Bring a picnic dinner, low back chairs, blankets and enjoy this great movie from the 1930′s.  This is the last event in this movie series the movie playing tonight is Frontier Badmen.  The grounds open at 5 and the movie starts promptly at sunset, for more information click here.

Saturday, September 24

Museum Day FREE admission, for two free tickets visit the Smithsonian website here.  This is a list of the participating museums in and around San Diego.   Marston House Museum, Mingei International Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts, Reuben H. Oceanside Harbor Days, this fun-filled event is Saturday and Sunday.  With tons of activities for kids and adults we love this family event!  Stop by on Saturday and see the Karate Kids, or the Poly Dance team perform, you will also not want to miss any one of the 6 bands playing both Saturday and Sunday.  This is a free event, visit the event website for more information.  

Sunday, September 24

The Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon Del Mar, this even was scheduled a couple of weeks ago but had to be postponed.  This is a fun event for pet lovers!  The dog and owner will participate in 20 minute heats based on the dogs weight class.  The dogs will be judged on their ability to ride the wave, and staying on their boards.  For more information visit the event website here.

 

 

 

Eating out? Get $$ back!

Fun Things to Do this Weekend!

I know it is still the beginning of the week but there are so many fun things going on this weekend I couldn’t wait until Friday to share them all with you!  I will come out with my full list of things to do on Thursday/Friday as usual but wanted to give you a heads up on some fun and free events you do not want to miss this weekend!

Saturday, September 17

Bressi Ranch Village Center is having a grand opening with tons of free things for the kiddos from noon to 4 p.m.  The first 200 customers to show up will receive tote bags filled with merchant gifts and coupons, and everyone can enter to will one of five $100 shopping sprees.  The free family fun includes face painting, balloon sculptures, performances by the Boys & Girls Club Band, and free train rides. Virtu Boutique in Carlsbad is hosting a 90’s theme cocktail party with free food and drinks.  Free slap bracelets, (yes, they still make those) costume contest, and a FREE $10 CREDIT if you RSVP. This is my favorite boutique, the prices are amazing with nothing over $50 in the entire store.  The event is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., to RSVP you may call (760) 743-4800, or by sending an e-mail to virtuboutique@yahoo.com, you may also RSVP for any friends who will be joining you at this fun event.  If you dress up you will receive another $10 credit upon your next visit and be entered to win $50 to spend at Virtu~!

Family Movie night at Stagecoach Park in Carlsbad.  We are so excited to bring our son to see E.T. for the very first time at this fun and free family event!  The fun starts at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m., bring low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic dinner.  There is a fun zone for kids, activity wristbands are required to participate and will be available for purchase at the event for $5 each. Last Day at the Del Mar Racetrack

Today is the last day at the races my friends, we are sad to have this racing season come to an end.  If you planned on going but never made it you are in luck because today is also FREE & EASY WEDNESDAY, you will receive FREE Stretch Run Admission, FREE Program and FREE Seat along with HALF PRICE Beer (domestic drafts), Regular Sodas and Regular Hot Dogs at Stretch Run Concession Stands.  Yes, I did say HALF OFF BEER!

You must be a Diamond Club member (membership is FREE) and scan your membership card at designated Admission Gates and Concession stands. Sign up for a free membership card at the Diamond Club booth before you enter the Stretch Run Admission gates.

After the races there is a free concert  in the Paddock by Super Diamond at 7pm.  For $25 you can purchase tickets to One Last Taste At The Track which includes Admission to the Racetrack, Seating in the Seaside Tropical Cabana, and Tastes from over 15 of Del Mar’s Finest Restaurants.
