I was fortunate enough to have a little pre-Mother’s Day pampering yesterday with a 90-minute massage in my living room, My therapist Muriel was delightful, and very skilled. She brought everything with her, massage table, sheets & pillows, aroma therapy, and music. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever had, and what I absolutely adored was that when the 90-minutes were up I didn’t have to drive home, I was home! I poured myself a glass of wine, moved myself to the couch and relaxed for the rest of the night.

The ANGRY BIRDS Movie is coming to theaters on May 20, 2016, my son has been waiting for this for wha seems like years! In the 3D animated comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we’ll finally find out why the birds are so angry.
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This Is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
We are happy to announce we are giving away five family 4-pack of tickets to a SPECIAL PREVIEW on Saturday May 14th at AMC movie theaters in Mission Valley, CA. The move screening is at 10:00 A.M. and it is encouraged to show up early. The winners of my giveaway will also get front of the line passes to get good seats inside.
a Rafflecopter giveaway
In conjunction with the Angry Birds Movies I am also hosting a giveaway for a $100 SpaFinder Gift Card for Mother’s Day. The winner will be chosen this Thursday before Mother’s Day. To enter the giveaway for a SpaFiner Giveaway see below, good luck!

Join us for a free swim play date at Waterworks Aquatics Swim School in Carlsbad! Waterworks Aquatics is offering the Moms & Dads of SoCal Savvy Mom a free swim and water safety class in a group setting that will also highlight the benefits of infant swimming.
With summer approaching I know my son needs a little refresher on his swimming strokes so I reached out to Waterworks and they were happy to set up a free class for you! Waterworks Aquatics is an indoor swim school that teaches children ages 3 months through adult how to swim. At Waterworks Aquatics you and your children will learn with a highly qualified team who will create a customized experience.
The Carlsbad facility offers 2 heated indoor pools and is located in the Bressi Ranch area. Why indoor pools if we are in sunny Southern California? With indoor pools there is no need to worry about if the pool will be too cold, and it also protects your children from the sun. The lap pool is 25 years in length and has 4 different lanes for swimming. The second pool is the teaching pool, and has been set up to help children learn to swim.
In the Parent and Me swimming classes, also known as Mommy and Me or Daddy and Me, the instructor will facilitate the learning process between you and your child. In a fun, relaxed environment, skills are taught through repetition of songs and activities. The class emphasizes positive reinforcement and progress at a comfortable pace for you and your child.
Waterworks Carlsbad is offering a FREE Mommy and Me or Daddy and Me swim class to SoCal Savvy Mom readers! The class will be on May 11th at 11 A.M. for babies and children from 3 months old to three years old.
To register for this event, please send an email to alex@waterworksswim.com with the following information as spots are limited:
The only requirement is that all babies must wear a disposable and a reusable swim diaper. Waterworks Aquatics sells the “I-Play” brand and their prices are competitive.
This free event is for Brand New Families to Waterworks Aquatics and for those who have NOT attended a previous Preview Class.
You will then receive an email confirmation within 48 hours informing you if we were able to successfully sign you up for an opening slot. If not, we will inform you of other upcoming dates to attend. We plan to have another free Mommy and Me swim class in June, so if you do not get in for this class don’t worry.
Waterworks Aquatics offers three different classes in the Parent and Me program:
The Beginner class is an introductory class for new students. Instructors will explain skill sets and routines as well as assist parents with submersions, back floating, and movement in the water.
(ages 3 months to 3 years)
Independent submersions, breath control, and rolling to the back are three skills that are emphasized in the Intermediate class. Parents are encouraged to allow their children to become more independent in the water.
(ages 3 months to 3 years)
The Advanced class is designed to transition students from the Parent & Me classes to Private or Semi-Private classes. Instructors will work with each student during the class and help them develop the skills necessary to swim independently.
(ages 3 months to 3 years)
Waterworks Aquatics also offers swim lessons & other various swim programs for ages between 3 months to adults! Please visit waterworksswim.com for more information or call 760.603.9400 today!

We are so happy to share with you our Mother’s Day Giveaway with a retail value over $2,000! There are so amazing products we are giving away including:
Beloforte is a new workout line that is all the rage with celebrities right now. We are in love with everything they make, below are the pants we are giving away, but to check out their full line of clothes check out their lookbook here.
The gorgeous rose gold bracelet below is made by Maria Shireen, not only is it beautiful but it has a purpose too! What mom doesn’t wear a hair tie around her wrist from time to time? Let’s be honest well have all done it. Problem with doing that is it is a bit of an eyesore and leaves a dent in your wrist. Maria’s husband decided to make her a bracelet so she could bring fashion to her hair tie, and the bittersweet line was born. The bracelets come in gold, rose gold, and silver and come in different sizes for different size wrists. I have one and wear it all the time, another thing I love is all you have to do is change the hair tie color and it can match any outfit you have instantly. To see the full line of what Bittersweet has to offer check out their website here.

Legoland has announced the opening date of Ninjago World which will be May 5th! The new world will host a new ride with technology that is just been brought to North America! The first ride of its kind will open on May 5th, the ride name is Lego Ninjago – The Ride. There is no height requirement to ride but if children are under 48 inches they must be accompanied by an adult. Watch for: Fireballs! Lightning! Shockwaves! Ice! You control these elements to defeat the Great Devourer and earn ninja status. This is what you’ve been training for!
Because the ride is not open yet, I thought I would share some of my pictures from the media event a few weeks ago. The images below are of the actual ride you will sit in, and the icons that are throughout the ride.
There will also be Zane’s Temple Build for a NINJAGO activity. Zane, the Ninja of Ice, will want your help building a massive model of the old Ninjago Monastery. There is no height requirement for this activity. Kai’s Spinngers activity will be great for all wanting to master Spinjitzu! If you’re going to master Spinjitzu, you have to be able to spin! On to Cole’s Rock Climb activity. Rock climbing teaches balance, endurance. and patience. Do you have those qualities, give it a try with Cole! Jay’s Lighting Drill activity where your reflexes are tested. Find out if they are “lightning” fast!
We were able to try some of the new food options available in NINJAGO world. The sandwiches were delicious! After the media preview in late April I will share more up-to-date pictures of NINJAGO World at Legoland California.
