We had so much fun making these marshmallow treats last night. Not only are they very easy to make, it is a blast making them!
We used white chocolate chips and melted them in the microwave at 30 second increments until it was melted. I added a tbsp of vegetable oil to make it easier to work with, my son wanted to add food dye. The colors he chose didn’t turn out so pretty, I would recommend just sticking with the white melted chocolate and not adding color.
After putting the marshmallows on sticks, pretty self explanatory there, we dipped them into the melted chocolate. Right after dipping in the chocolate we dipped in the sprinkles. We tried different color sprinkles but because it needs to be fully covered for the finished look none turned out that great.
After dipping into the chocolate and the sprinkles, set on wax paper to dry for about ten to fifteen minutes. Be careful with the finished product because the sprinkles like to fall off.
After the treats have set, and are firm to the touch, wrap in any decorative wrap you may have. I found this really cute duck paper at Michael’s for $0.25 a roll a few years back and was able to grab a few rolls of it. Always check Michael’s clearance area, I believe I found it in the middle of summer.
The perfect finishing touch, put in a basket and add a little rubber ducky to pull it all together. I plan on taking these to my mom’s chemo nurses tomorrow, they loved the Valentine’s Oreo treats so much, I hope they like these too!

Rice crispy treats are a favorite in our house, yet another reason to love them is you can make them for any holiday. We have made Christmas trees, pumpkins, Easter Eggs and now four-leafed clovers! Not only are they very easy to make, they are also delicious to eat as well. My son helped with every step of making these and had a blast while doing it.
Ingredients Needed:
1 box rice crispy cereal
1 bag of marshmallows
Green food dye
Butter (we used coconut oil instead)
Melt 2 tbsp of butter and 40 marshmallows in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Mix melted ingredients together and add green food dye. Add 4 cups of rice crispy cereal, add another cup if needed. Let set for about 5 minutes and then use cookie cutter to cute out. We used a coconut oil spray and sprayed the cookie cutter a few different times so the rice didn’t stick to it. After you have cut them out set on wax paper to set. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Legoland Water Park is located inside of the Legoland resort in Carlsbad, California and is an amazing place to bring children. We visit at least once a week during the summer, and truth be told I enjoy it as much as my kids do! A great option if you are planning on spending the day is renting a cabana. It is great to have a place to sit, relax, and refuel when needed, especially with little ones.
Cabanas are perfect for a family up 6 (although 2 additional guests may be added at $10 per person). If you have a larger party than 8, not worry you may just ask for two cabanas that are next to each other, Legoland will accommodate any request they can. Each cabana features two deluxe chaise lounges, two seating chairs, two complimentary towels. Included in the cabana rental is six bottles of water in your own mini-frig, two complimentary towels, and a duplo table with bricks for the kids to play with. One of my favorite things about being a cabana guest is you will receive front-of-line-access to Build a Raft River as well as unlimited float time on the ‘Lazy’ River. Whether you are renting a standard cabana or a premium cabana, both come with an ALL DAY Legoland Host during the visit to the water park. The host will help with any needs you may have during your visit as well as deliver any food and beverage purchases you make.
The cabanas 1-16 are in the main water park and are considered standard cabanas. Cabanas 17-28 are located in the Chima area, 18-24 are considered premium cabanas and 25-28 are private premium cabanas. If you are traveling with someone or someones who would like to go unnoticed while at the water park cabanas 25-28 are perfect for you.
For older children ages 6 years and up I would recommend the cabanas by the Build a Raft River, the cabanas in that area are Shark, Manta Ray, Parrot and Dolphin (13-16). All of these are great because they are right by the Joker Soaker, Twin Chasers, Splash Out, and the Orange Crush, where you can watch your children go down the larger water slides.
If you have younger children under age 6 reserve a cabana in the Duplo Splash Safari area, the best cabanas in this area are 1-5 my favorite being the Polar Bear. The Polar Bear cabana is very close to the three water slides for younger children. If you have toddlers or babies the cabanas Tiger, Giraffe, and Elephant(10-12) are great options because they are right by the Safari Splash Zoo. If you would like to be in the Chima area of the park with younger children the best cabanas are 17-22 because they surround Cragger’s Swamp hosts Crug’s Run a fun hands on area for younger children and includes two different water slides. The costs for the cabanas depend on which cabana you choose. For more details on prices and hours visit Legoland’s website here.
If you do not plan to purchase a cabana plan to arrive at the water park when it opens. This will allow for you to get a chair or chairs near where your children will spend most of his or her day. If you are saving chairs, only save chair for the number of adults in your party, the kids will be playing nearly the entire day and don’t need a chair. Most of the chairs will fill up fast if you want to have a place to put your things you should consider a cabana rental. Entry into the water park is not high, the cost of the cabana will make your day a lot more enjoyable.
Please note if you are a guest of the Legoland Hotel or the Legoland Castle Hotel see the concierge because they will offer special pricing for guests at either hotel. If you plan to reserve a cabana I would recommend you do so in advance by calling (760) 438-5346, a minimum of one day prior to your visit is required.
