Now open at Legoland California in the Star Wars Miniland is the Death Star! The Death Star is 8-fee wide, over 13-fee high and weights more than 1,900 pounds! We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at a media preview earlier this week and we loved it! My son loves anything lego and Star Wars so it was pretty much a win win for us. The cool death star has a super laser which lights up with green lights when zeros in on its target. It is made out of 500,000 lego bricks and includes the trench run scene where Luke Skywalker maneuvers through with his X-wing fighter, see below.
It is adjacent to the Lego Death Star, you can use your imagination to construct your very own Lego starships at building stations while X-Wings, TIE Fighters and Y-Wings circle overhead. My son loved building his own ship out of all of the fun Lego pieces surrounding the famous trench, were Luke Skywalker raced through the combat zone to destroy the Death Star. The Lego Star War Miniland Death Star is designed from the Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. It includes six animated Turbo Laser Turrets and Lego starship models built out of more than 20,000 Lego bricks.
New Lego models have been added to each of the seven scenes including an underwater scene featuring an Opee sea killer on Naboo and a Jawa sandcrawler on Tattooine. At Legoland Star Wars Miniland you can enjoy 12 Lego models, each standing 3-feet-tall, of favorite Star Wars™ characters including Yoda, Wicket, Anakin and Princess Leia. A life-size LEGO Darth Maul honors the release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
This weekend is Lego Star Wars days at Legoland California, travel to a galaxy far, far away with the Lego Star Wars Miniland model display area. You’ll experience model displays of scenes from the six live-action Star Warsmovies and one from the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, plus interactive features and life-size Lego models.
