Crusin’ Grand @ Downtown Escondido– Cruisin’ Grand is called one of the best cruises in the country. Stop by and see 1973 and earlier American-made Classics, Customs, Vintage, Muscle, and Hot Rods cruising Grand Ave, just like they did 50-60- years ago, on a Friday night.  The bands playing tonight are Stage 1 @ Maple: Crusin for a Bruezin, Stage 2 @ Kalmia: HooDoo Blues, Stage 3 @ Juniper: Love Notes.  For more information click here.

OB Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off  – Thousands will flock to Newport Ave. and surrounding areas for the Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival, Saturday June 23rd, 2012.   Live music on 6 stages and entertainment, unique vendors, talented artists, thrilling rides, refreshing beer garden, and so much more! People ride the free trolley by the hundreds and park their bikes at the new bike valet. Concerts on the Promenade @ Prestcott Promenade in El Cajon – The Concerts on the Promenade (formerly Concerts on the Green) take place at Prescott Promenade, a small park in downtown El Cajon.  Each Friday beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. from May through September. The free, weekly Summer music series features top entertainers, food, dancing and drawings.  This week the band is Lightning Train Country, for more information click here.

Concert Series @ Coronado Ferry Landing – Saturday and Sundays throughout the summer enjoy free concerts at the Coronado Ferry Landing beginning at 2 p.m.  Saturday Dixie Jazz Katz will play and on Sunday Velvet Cafe will perform.  For more information click here.

Crafts for Kids @ Lakeshore Learning – The craft this week is a Summertime Door Hanger – Celebrate the arrival os summer – with a scenic sandy beach that children can design & display on a door!  For more information or to find a Lakeshore Learning center near you click here.

Coronado Concerts in the Park @ Spreckles Park – Every Sunday at Spreckles park located at Orange Avenue, between Sixth and Seventh Streets at 6 p.m. enjoy free family concerts.  This week the band is The Fabulous Mar Dels, for more information click here.

Concerts at the Cove in Solana Beach

Concerts at the Cove are free thanks to the City of Solana Beach and The Belly Up Tavern.  Enjoy concerts every Thursday from June 21 to August 30, the concerts are from 6:00 – 7:45 P.M. at Fletcher Cove Park, in Solana Beach.  The city asks that you bring low-back beach chairs, or ground cover if you choose to have a picnic.  Please note there is no alcohol, tobacco, or pets allowed during concerts.  For more information click here.

Kids and moms alike can enjoy a movie this summer for only $1 during a 9-week festival. Fun & Free Tuesday

Tuesday is a great day to save money on some really fun things.  Take the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked for free at the Krikorian at 10:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m.  If your kids have seen that movie there is also Dolphin Tale or Happy Feet 2 playing at Edwards San Marcos and the Oceanside Regal for only $1.  Not feeling a movie?  Check out free bowling at AMF for kids, they get two free games each per day.

Don’t forget Free Museum Tuesday!  Almost every museum in San Diego is free at least once during the month.  Another amazing thing about living here is we get to take advantage of these great museums without having to spend any money!  The third Tuesday of the month the following museums are free:
