Legoland California will host the annual Red, White and BOOM on July 4th!  We love Legoland and visit often, it has fun rides and attractions for every age-group.  The 4th of July celebration patriotic music with dazzling pyrotechnics and throughout the day, kids of all ages can enjoy live musical performances and participate in all-American family picnic games like water-balloon tosses, burlap sack races and building activities.  The fireworks begin at 8:30 p.m. and will end at 9:00 p.m. for more information click here.  For information on a free child admission to Legoland click here.

La Costa Resort Fireworks 2012

On Sunday July 1, 2012 La Costa Resort & Spa will host the annual Independence Day Celebration.  This is a great fun family event for the whole family with activities like Bubble Making Magic with Whiskers, Family Scavenger Hunt, S’mores Nighttime Roast, Tattoos, craft, and face painting at Splash.  The event comes to an end with a huge fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.  Independence Holiday BBQ Buffet Dinner and Fireworks is held at Valley Pomenade from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., one seating $60 Adults, $35 Children, (does not include tax and service charge) * no member discount applied to this event.  For more information on tickets click here.

There are some of you who live close enough to watch from your house like my parents (lucky you!) or you may choose to sit over by the Batiquitos Lagoon for a nice view.  The closest park is La Costa Canyon Park, (not the high school) at the top of the park there is an incredible view of the ocean and the fireworks.  Please note there is no parking on La Costa Avenue with views of the fireworks, do not park on La Costa Avenue the police will give tickets to those doing so!  If you choose to watch from your car be sure to stay on a side street.  Be safe and enjoy!

FREE Kids Movies @ Krikorian This Summer!

Thanks to The Super Dentists select movies at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Krikorian Theaters are free!  Seating is on a first come, first serve basis so be sure to arrive early.  Next Tuesday June 19th is Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked which is a super cute movie!  Tuesday June 26th is Diary of a Wimpy Kid, July 3rd is Mr. Popper’s Penguins, July 10th is Rio, July 17th is We Bought a Zoo, July 24th is Hugo, July 31 is Kung Fu Panda 2, August 7th is Puss in Boots, August 14th is Rango and the last movie and my favorite on Tuesday August 21st is The Adventures of Tin Tin.  For more information click here.

The Wave water park also has Friday Night Splash, the Wave is open extended hours from 4 to 8 p.m. Admission tickets are only $7.95 per person (or a $3.00 upgrade with the same day regular park admission ticket).  They host fun games and competitions for prizes, and discount food is also available.  Another great thing is there is no charge for parking on any day or anytime.

Rubio’s Beach Party @ Seaside Beach in Cardiff – In honor of World Oceans Day Rubio’s is throwing a beach party!  This free family event will have surfing,  beach games, free Rubio’s food, and will end with a beach cleanup.  Join me and my family on Saturday, June 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for some fun in the sun!  Do you like to surf?  What about play bocce ball?  Build a sand castle lately?  This fun beach party will have complimentary surf lessons, a bocce ball tournament, sand castle building contests, face painting and badminton.
