Ocean Beach – Fireworks start at 9 p.m. at the Ocean Beach Pier. Go early and spend the day at Ocean Beach, San Diego.
La Jolla – Fireworks stat at 9 p.m. over La Jolla Bay. La Jolla Shores and nearby Kellogg Park is a great place to picnic and enjoy the beach on the 4th of July. You can also enjoy the view from Ellen Browning Scripps Park and La Jolla Cove, along the La Jolla Coast Walk.
Del Mar – Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. at the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, can we just call it the Del Mar Fair again? For more info click here. The fireworks show at the Del Mar Fair is usually a pretty good show, the only problem is when the fog rolls in and you can’t see them.
La Costa @ Park Hyatt Aviara Resort – Fireworks start at 9 p.m. for more info click here. The fireworks at the Aviara Resort are great and you can see them anywhere around the lagoon or near the golf course.
Carlsbad @ Legoland – Fireworks start at 8:30 p.m. Red, White and BOOM! We watched the fireworks at Legoland last year and it was great because it is earlier and with a 3-year-old earlier is always best! Fore more info click here. Legoland Carlsbad blocks off the roads around the park a few days before the big July 4th Fireworks celebration. There are always more places to view the fireworks than the street, a great place is the parking lot at Costco (Costco will be closed) or the parking lot at the Sheraton. There are also a lot of office buildings that will have empty parking lots. Try and get to your location at least 20 minutes before Red, White and BOOM starts at 8:30 p.m.
San Marcos – Fireworks start at 9 p.m. This is a great place because Bradley Park is so large and there is tons of space. There is also some free children’s activities and entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. Arrive early because parking will be an issue even though the park is large there is never enough parking. For more info click here.
Vista – Fireworks start at 9 p.m. at the Moonlight Amphitheater, for more info click here.
