The Encinitas Holiday Parade is one of our families favorite holiday tradition! If you have attended the parade in the past then I don’t need to tell you about the tens of thousands of people who come out every year for this special celebration. There will be floats and bands galore at the 2014 Encinitas Holiday Parade. The parade rolls along Coast Highway 101 on Saturday, December 6th.
This year’s theme is “Droppin’ In for the Holidays,” celebrating Encinitas’ reputation as THE mecca for Action Sports. I can say this from personal experience as my husband works in the action sports industry and their office is in Encinitas. Expect to see plenty of big name surfers, skateboarders, snowboarders and more and terrific representations of the action sports lifestyle on the many floats and entries in the parade.
2014 Parade Grand Marshals John and Pete Najjar, owners of Cardiff Seaside Market, will lead almost 100 parade entries along the Parade route. The City honors the Najjars for their long-time service to our community.
The parade begins at 5:30 PM. It is preceded by a 5:00 PM tree lighting ceremony a the Lumberyard (near Starbucks coffee).
Parade entries, which will include floats, marching bands and children’s groups among other things, will travel south along South Coast Highway 101 beginning at the corner of “D” Street and finishing at “J” Street.
Join us and cheer as the nearly 100 parade floats and entries make their way down the Parade route on Historic Coast Highway 101.
