La Costa Resort July 4th Fireworks – 2014

by

The Fourth of July is a big holiday and La Costa Resort loves to celebrate!  This year there is a full line up of activities for little ones and adults alike!  To start the day at 11 a.m. you may try the fun daily craft (patriotic theme) at the Athletic Club Patio.  Have a little lunch and then stop by the Coastal Events Center for some fun cookie decorating.  To cool off don’t miss the water balloon toss at the Sport Court, or the watersides.   My son’s favorite is the s’mores roasting over the open fire, but I assume pretty much any child is the same. Chocolate, graham crackers then add a toasted marshmallow who says no to that?

Adults can enjoy live music by Art Alexakis from EVERCLEAR!  Yes, you read that right, Everclear!  Incase that wasn’t clear, that is where I will be, watching Art Alexakis from Everclear.

The evening comes to a close at 9 p.m. with the annual fireworks celebration, you will NOT want to miss the 20-minute fireworks extravaganza!

If you live in the area like us, please remember to keep your animals indoors.

Carlsbad Concerts in the Park – 2014

by

The City of Carlsbad will host free concerts in the park throughout the summer at different parks in Carlsbad.  This is the 29th year of this fun-family event with the City of Carlsbad.  NEW this year are the on-site food options, with new vendors with items like hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, barbeque and Fro-Yo!  In the past we have always brought our snacks with us but this year maybe we will try out some of the new food options.  Bring low-back chairs, a blanket, snacks, and drinks if you would like.  Glass is allowed at these events ONLY, wine and beer bottles are okay to bring, they do ask that you recycle.

The second concert at each park has fun things for kids to do as well, it is called Art at Jazz.  Art At Jazz offers hands-on visual arts activities for younger TGIF Jazz audience members. Instructors and volunteers guide the children as they make works of art in planned activities.
